I'm Back!

Well.... I'm back to say that I'm dusting off the ole' blog after almost 6 YEARS!  I do not promise any frequent updates or overly exciting news though.  Just updates of the happenings in our crazy life!

When Nash (now 1) was born,  I realized I hadn't even bought a baby book for him yet... but then looked at the other 2 boys'  incomplete books and just decided I better save my money๐Ÿ˜‰  So it's a wonderful thing that Brysen has a photographic memory and can help remind me of all the milestones in our family and for Facebook timehop of course too!  I set some goals at the new year and blogging was one of them so what better time to start than now again!

An update on our family:  (lots of changes in 6 years)

Brysen is almost 7 and I'm 1st grade.  He loves school, sports and his social life.  He stays busy in REC activities, Clover Kids and church.  He still has the red hair that he was born with and remains the "firecracker"  of the family!

Jax is almost 5 and in Preschool this year.  He loves school, reading, coloring, animals and playing outside.  He loves to ride the bus 2 days a week and always is full of stories from school and daycare. He is definitely our quiet one but is getting more and more less timid as the days pass!

Nash just turned 1  and is definitely our hand full!  We've never needed cupboard locks, toilet locks, or stuff put up or away until he started moving!  He walks... ok, runs, everywhere and definitely keeps us all on our toes! The big boys adore him and he loves them just as much.  He has definitely been a blessing for our family this past year more than we could of ever imagined.  He gets drug along to all the other boys' activities and seems to tolerate it all pretty well.  He doesn't have much of a schedule and is my worst sleeper but guess that's what happens when it's boy #3.

I am still a nurse at Home Health in Sibley,  working 3 days a week. I have acquired some hobbies the past couple years that keep me both busy and sane!๐Ÿ˜‰  After the 3rd boy,  I believe more than ever that I need to have my cup full before I can fill anyone else's cup.   I have become a morning person... which if you knew me even a year ago, you would of thought that was never possible! And I will admit, it was life changing and I can't believe I missed out on that time of day for SO long!

Brian is still at the elevator in Rock Rapids and takes care of pigs.  The boys get talked into doing chores and appreciate the $3 pay per building.  Brian is definitely looking forward to the days that they can do the chores themselves ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nothing else to report tonight but will update with some current pictures and holding myself to keeping this updated at least twice a month!

Spring has arrived!

Yes, Spring is finally her and that means I have been a "single mom" for the past week!  The weather is finally nice enough to be in the field so Brian is working from about 5am till midnight every night. Hopefully the rain stays away and everyone can get done quickly!   Brysen went for a terragator ride on Monday evening and loved it, he cried when we had to get out!
He even got to drive!

Being silly in the tub
This week he has become obsessed with brushing his teeth!  He has brushed them for 25 min every morning while I'm getting ready:)
He is getting a little braver and standing on his own a lot more but still not walking!
He loves to be outside more than anything and stands at the front door and whines ALOT!

I just have to open the door and he is out of here!!

Our Easter Festivities

We had a great Easter! Started out the week by dying Easter eggs.... Brysen mainly just ate cheetos and watched:)   I chose to blow my eggs out so we could give them as gifts, I tell ya, Egg dying was sure alot more enjoyable when Mom did all the preparation and cleanup!

Brysen Supervising:)

Getting in on the Action!

On Saturday we visited the Easter Bunny in Ocheyedan, no tears, but he wasn't the fondest of him!

The little things

Well we got a taste of Spring and Brysen sure loved it!  Last weekend I came home from work to find him outside with daddy filthy as ever! It sure is a good thing he has those daddy days, cause I don't think this momma would ever be able to sit back and watch him get that dirty:)

He also got his "big boy" carseat this week and his 7th tooth popped through!!

People are so true when they say time flies by when you have kids!  Brysen is now 10 months old and I do not know where the time has gone!!   It saddens me to know that we will soon be celebrating his 1st Birthday, I just want him to stay my little baby forever:)
I've already started with the birthday planning and we're thinking a baseball theme since it's prime Twin's Season! I'm planning on a simple meal of hot dogs, nachos, fruit, etc and of course Cake!   I just can't decide if I'm going to buy the cake or tackle it myself (if you don't know already, I really don't like to cook at all)!

Brysen is continuing to keep us on our toes!  (So far since I've just been typing I've managed to catch him digging in the garbage and attempting to climb the stairs)! He's not walking but attempts to stand on his own and walks around anything he can.  He is starting to say a few more words and continuously "patty cakes", signs "all gone" and his newest thing is to blow kisses:)   This past Wednesday he had his 2nd haircut already!   Didn't really sit any better than his 1st one, just very curious as to what aunt Jill is doing to him!
He has gotten a taste of outside and loves it!  I think this summer will be a blast with him, if this weather ever decides to warm up!!

Brysen's Toy Room after I just cleaned it the morning before!

This is how I found him in his toyroom!

He weighs about 24 1/2 pounds already!  He has really got an appetite lately!  Baby food is a thing of the past for the most part and he is all about real people food.... Some of his favorites are french fries, mac and cheese, pancakes and pasta!
He continues to entertain everyone, he especially loves kids!  His daycare leader always says he's the comedian of his room( I can only imagine)!

Yesterday afternoon we rode along with Brian to do chores. He got new pigs in on Tuesday and Wednesday and Brysen got to meet them!   He liked looking from afar but wasn't into getting close to them.
Checking out his new toy!  Hoping he won't be riding it for awhile, but his daddy says otherwise:)
Brysen had Easter pictures taken on Saturday, he did great as usual!   Brian says I have his pictures taken way too much but it's so hard not to when he's so darn photogenic:)   Here's a couple previews....

Gone But Never Forgotten

This week was marked by lots of firsts from our family....

It started out with Brysen's 1st St. Patrick's Day, but unfortunetly ended with the 1st death of a Grandparent of mine.... My Grandpa Boeke is now watching over us from Heaven free of oxygen cords and suffering!  It is humbling to know but also very hard to deal with... I feel very privelaged to be able to have so many great memories with every one of my Grandparents as I know a lot of Grandchildren don't ever get that privelage!  I would also like to send my sincere gratitude to everyone for all the kind words, visits, cards, meals and phone calls!  My family is overwhelmed!!    See ya Later, Grandpa!!  You will be GREATLY missed by so many!!

This week also marked our 1st walk of the year!  We were joined by Jill and little Emma... Emma and Brysen loved the fresh air and both of them even fell asleep!

I also attended my 1st Sugarland Concert last night!  A group of 6 girls started the afternoon off with a little shopping, supper at The Outback and then the concert... I haven't been to many concerts but this was by far the best one so far... We didn't sit down the entire time!  Thanks Ladies for a much needed fun night out!!

We continue to pray for everyone affected by the devastation in Japan.... My cousin Chad got to fly home from Korea for the Funeral and said the damage is worse than could be imagined.

Well I better sign off, I have a husband with the stomach flu, a baby ready for bed and a house that has been ignored for 4 days!  Goodnight all!
