Spring has arrived!

Yes, Spring is finally her and that means I have been a "single mom" for the past week!  The weather is finally nice enough to be in the field so Brian is working from about 5am till midnight every night. Hopefully the rain stays away and everyone can get done quickly!   Brysen went for a terragator ride on Monday evening and loved it, he cried when we had to get out!
He even got to drive!

Being silly in the tub
This week he has become obsessed with brushing his teeth!  He has brushed them for 25 min every morning while I'm getting ready:)
He is getting a little braver and standing on his own a lot more but still not walking!
He loves to be outside more than anything and stands at the front door and whines ALOT!

I just have to open the door and he is out of here!!

Our Easter Festivities

We had a great Easter! Started out the week by dying Easter eggs.... Brysen mainly just ate cheetos and watched:)   I chose to blow my eggs out so we could give them as gifts, I tell ya, Egg dying was sure alot more enjoyable when Mom did all the preparation and cleanup!

Brysen Supervising:)

Getting in on the Action!

On Saturday we visited the Easter Bunny in Ocheyedan, no tears, but he wasn't the fondest of him!

The little things

Well we got a taste of Spring and Brysen sure loved it!  Last weekend I came home from work to find him outside with daddy filthy as ever! It sure is a good thing he has those daddy days, cause I don't think this momma would ever be able to sit back and watch him get that dirty:)

He also got his "big boy" carseat this week and his 7th tooth popped through!!

People are so true when they say time flies by when you have kids!  Brysen is now 10 months old and I do not know where the time has gone!!   It saddens me to know that we will soon be celebrating his 1st Birthday, I just want him to stay my little baby forever:)
I've already started with the birthday planning and we're thinking a baseball theme since it's prime Twin's Season! I'm planning on a simple meal of hot dogs, nachos, fruit, etc and of course Cake!   I just can't decide if I'm going to buy the cake or tackle it myself (if you don't know already, I really don't like to cook at all)!

Brysen is continuing to keep us on our toes!  (So far since I've just been typing I've managed to catch him digging in the garbage and attempting to climb the stairs)! He's not walking but attempts to stand on his own and walks around anything he can.  He is starting to say a few more words and continuously "patty cakes", signs "all gone" and his newest thing is to blow kisses:)   This past Wednesday he had his 2nd haircut already!   Didn't really sit any better than his 1st one, just very curious as to what aunt Jill is doing to him!
He has gotten a taste of outside and loves it!  I think this summer will be a blast with him, if this weather ever decides to warm up!!

Brysen's Toy Room after I just cleaned it the morning before!

This is how I found him in his toyroom!

He weighs about 24 1/2 pounds already!  He has really got an appetite lately!  Baby food is a thing of the past for the most part and he is all about real people food.... Some of his favorites are french fries, mac and cheese, pancakes and pasta!
He continues to entertain everyone, he especially loves kids!  His daycare leader always says he's the comedian of his room( I can only imagine)!

Yesterday afternoon we rode along with Brian to do chores. He got new pigs in on Tuesday and Wednesday and Brysen got to meet them!   He liked looking from afar but wasn't into getting close to them.
Checking out his new toy!  Hoping he won't be riding it for awhile, but his daddy says otherwise:)
Brysen had Easter pictures taken on Saturday, he did great as usual!   Brian says I have his pictures taken way too much but it's so hard not to when he's so darn photogenic:)   Here's a couple previews....

Gone But Never Forgotten

This week was marked by lots of firsts from our family....

It started out with Brysen's 1st St. Patrick's Day, but unfortunetly ended with the 1st death of a Grandparent of mine.... My Grandpa Boeke is now watching over us from Heaven free of oxygen cords and suffering!  It is humbling to know but also very hard to deal with... I feel very privelaged to be able to have so many great memories with every one of my Grandparents as I know a lot of Grandchildren don't ever get that privelage!  I would also like to send my sincere gratitude to everyone for all the kind words, visits, cards, meals and phone calls!  My family is overwhelmed!!    See ya Later, Grandpa!!  You will be GREATLY missed by so many!!

This week also marked our 1st walk of the year!  We were joined by Jill and little Emma... Emma and Brysen loved the fresh air and both of them even fell asleep!

I also attended my 1st Sugarland Concert last night!  A group of 6 girls started the afternoon off with a little shopping, supper at The Outback and then the concert... I haven't been to many concerts but this was by far the best one so far... We didn't sit down the entire time!  Thanks Ladies for a much needed fun night out!!

We continue to pray for everyone affected by the devastation in Japan.... My cousin Chad got to fly home from Korea for the Funeral and said the damage is worse than could be imagined.

Well I better sign off, I have a husband with the stomach flu, a baby ready for bed and a house that has been ignored for 4 days!  Goodnight all!

Our Week!

Well it's been a busy week in the Loerts' household!  Brian got back from Tampa on Saturday evening and then Kim and Cody came over to visit... They are expecting their first baby in August!  We're so happy for them and can't wait for our future playdates:)   I worked nights and woke up to the kiddie jail aka playpen set up!  Surprisingly Brian said Brysen didn't mind it a bit and Brian was actually able to get a few things done with him in there!
We helped celebrate Blake's 3rd Birthday on Sunday night and also my aunt Sandy's 50th! Brysen also managed to scratch my Cornea (eye) so that made for an interesting night at work.

Brian bought something on Craigslist (imagine that!) so Thursday we made a dashing trip up to the cities to pick it up and still managed to have time to go to the outlet mall, of course:)   I have wanted a Coach purse forever and finally got one!  I think I had every one of them in the store on my shoulder before finally deciding:)                                                     Here's it is!!

We have a birthday party tonight so Brysen will get to go to Gma and Gpa Loerts' for the evening!  Then tomorrow don't forget to set your clocks ahead!!   Looking forward to some extra daylight, that's for sure!

Brysen's 1st Haircut!

I went and got my hair cut and colored yesterday and talked Jill into cutting Brysen's hair for the first time also!  She didn't think it needed it, but it was starting to fall over his ears and curl a lot too:)     He didn't cooperate the best as he was too busy wanting to check everything out, but looks oh so handsome now!
Brian left for Tampa this morning:(    He said it's 80 degrees there!  I went to work this morning but got a call from Daycare around 11 that Brysen had a temp of 102.5. I went and got him and he was "burning up". No cough or runny nose though so hopefully it leaves as quickly as it came!  He's spent most of the afternoon just sleeping and cuddling with his mama:)

Here Goes Nothing!

I usually don't make New Year's Resolutions but this year I decided to give it a try. One of mine was to start a blog to keep family and friends updated on our busy life and to also help record our memories and milestones!  So here goes nothing!!
Brysen is now the highlight of our life and we wouldn't want it any other way so many of these posts will probably be all about him! He is a healthy, growing, photogenic, funny, active 9 month old that keeps us on our toes more than ever...
He crawls everywhere and also walks around things if he's holding on.  He waves bye-bye, does So-Big and his newest thing is shaking his head no-no when he is asked any sort of question!  (He must hear that word often or something!)  He has said da-da for awhile but just recently started saying mama which completly melts my heart and makes it even harder to say no to him:)
He got his 9 month pictures taken this past weekend and acted like such a little ham!  He stuck out his tongue for most of them but we did manage to get some of him smiling good... I never realize how red/orange his hair actually is until I see him in pictures! I used to think he would outgrow the red but I think it's here to stay:)  He gets many compliments on it everywhere we seem to go!
Well enough about Brysen!  I just finished up teaching a NCC clinical group at the hospital. We had six weeks of clinicals and they were  a great group of students and I really enjoyed it!  Brian went on a snowmobile trip last week to The Hills and is going to Tampa this coming weekend for a work trip. Brysen and I don't find it very fair that we weren't even invited:) We are getting very sick of this cold, snowy weather and are welcoming walks and bikes rides with open arms!!

Here is one of Brysen's 9 month pictures!  Our photographer is Staci Kinghorn from Something Clicked Photography in Harrisburg, SD.. I would recommend her to everyone, she does GREAT work!!
